What You Should Be Watching

Most of you know Gordon Ramsay as the foul-mouthed short-tempered head chef of "Hell's Kitchen". However, there's a lot more to the man than what's shown on American TV. Ramsay's show "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" on BBCA shows us the lighter side of the man. While he still gets loud and foul, the source of that passion is revealed. Food.

"Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" shows Chef Gordon as he goes from a failing restaurant to failing restaurant. While there, he spends 1 week at the restaurant helping them analyze what they are doing wrong, and how to fix it. Most times it's about the food, whether being improperly cooked, or just improperly seasoned (chocolate scallops!). He offers them his wisdom based on experience, having once had to close down his own restaurant. Don't think it's always a happy ending, more times than not these chefs or owners don't openly take the advice with they arms wide open, no matter how obvious it is to the viewer.

So if you're in the mood to see some good food, and have some good laughs as Gordon pokes fun at the staff and situations, check out it out on BBCA, and see the real side of the chef behind "Hell's Kitchen".

The Blog Is Back

So it's been a while since I've blogged, and truthfully the last dozen or so entries are more wine and cheese than an actual meal. As you can probably tell from that brilliant punny metaphor alone, I'm back, in the right frame of mind, or as close as I can be.

Sure I may slip and let out a post of longing and unrequited love, but that's always been my M.O. as a hopeless (hopeful) romantic.

All I can offer you, the reader (the lone reader, Hi Shannon!) is the promise of better posts, of more humor, and reviews and recommendations of television, tv, and any other form of media I feel that is under-rated.

Hopefully we'll pick up a few more readers along the way, but if not, I at least know that I'm improving the culture of Michigan just a tad. :)
